Dua Lipa, an English singer-songwriter was born in London, on the 22nd of August 1995. Her self-titled debut was released in 2017, after she signed with Warner Bros Records. The album reached the top spot at No. 3 on the U.K. Charts. There were eight singles that were released, including Be the First I.D.G.A.F., and New Rules. In the United States it peaked as sixth in the charts. Lipa received the Brit Awards for British Female solo artist and British debut act in 2018. Dua Lipa was born London on the 22nd of August, 1995. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Her maternal grandmother is the reason she is of Bosnian ancestry. There is also a trace of Lipa's family tree back to Peja within Kosovo. The grandparents of Lipa were both historians. Lipa is the younger sister of Rina Lipa and one younger brother, named Gjin. Her father, a guitar player and singer in the Kosovan group Oda was a major influence on her music. While at home, her father would perform his original compositions along with songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began singing when she was five years old. At the age of nineteen she was singing in Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa performed If I Ain't Goin' to You from Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. The year 2014 was the year that Lipa was signed to a contract in partnership with Warner Bros. Records. Her debut single New Love was released in August 2015.
